not long at all but i never pay any attention to time so who knows
why does it matter how long it takes? shouldnt it matter more how long they last?
keep it in perspective how long it takes is a matter of weeks or mon ths
how long they last a matter of years decades or generations
in that perspective what diference does a handful of days make?

what others experience will have no bearing on your experience at all ive seen dreads dread in hours others take years
you cant even begin to estyimate what yours will do based on what others did
see the times meaningless
and in fact how you choose to perceive the time matters most
you can be impatient and 2 weeks will seem like an etermnity
or ypu can choose to let go and go with the flow and 9 months feels incredibly fast

I noticed mine starting to lock at about 3 weeks. In about a month and a half there were like 2 that had really taken off.. At 2 months several were locking and getting a lot tighter and at 3 months, all of my sections stay together and almost all of them [well mostly all] look like dreads. I'd say the 1 and a half month mark would be good to really look and try and scope em out, well for people of color that is. I can't speak for anyone else.

it is a fact that they can begin to dread in hours,
ive woken up to a new formed neglect dread! i was very suprised and happy :]
dont dog on se..,
i would be lost in my dread journey without this site, in all honesty. my original plan was to backcomb and then use wax to hold them together. then i found this site, and said fuck that. now i got happy healthy dreads. whoop.
