Dry Dreads

Hello my nappy friends!

I'm heading out on a 2 month road trip across the states in a week in a half. I'm staying in national parks and camping along the way. I'm sure I'll run into some crazy weather, including rain storms. I want to keep my dreads as dry as possible. Any ideas on how to do this?

LOL I *love* how everyone talks about their dreads like they're sentient. :D

In regards to the o.p., no idea. :)

Whats wrong with the hook and wax, they seem to be working pretty well

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but wax will prevent water from leaving your hair when you get it wet. I honestly think deep down you know it's not good for you or your hair or you wouldn't be worrying about them getting wet. ;) And the crochet hook damages your hair.

For now. The longer you use the both of them, the more apparent the damages will be along the way.

Wax does not help your dreads grow, it gives off the illusion that your dreads have solidified and are growing.

wax will cause mold and wax never washes out it only glues hair together to make it look like dreads but orevents actyual dreading its the number 1 cause of dreads being cut

crochet breaks tons of hair so they need constant repair which makes them weaker and weaker till they break

both make them stiff and gross

both prevent actual dreading

wax also traps dirt and water so they will mold its no wonder your scared to get them wet

crochet makes them way way way too tight so they are 1/3 the thickness a healthy dread should be (on average ive seen them 20 times thu=inner then they should be) both wax and crochet are just gonna cause trouble and make them require way way way more work

think about it

to dread u never have to do a thing

hair will simply dread on its own

but notw t=that u waxed and crochetted dont u crochet and wax and palm roll and rub and roll and work on them many hours a weeek when if u did neither u could do nothing at all and they just dread?

your dreading by sheer force cause the stuff your doing is preventing the natural drading process from happening

your workimg against tyourself

evebn after u remove the wax the crochet recovery will take a very long time

they wikll get extra fuzzy from all the broken hairs

it will be 6 months to over a year before they begin to dread properly
