You could take the herb "Horsetail". They have it at most healthfood stores - http://www.health-care-tips.org/herbal-medicines/horsetail.htm some specific information on it, but many say it helps hair to grow 2-5x faster. I take it myself.

ya leave it alone. the more i mess with them the more damage it does and the longer it actually takes to lock up. i used to spray my hair with seasalt water tho - not sure if it helped... b/c i dont know how fast it would have locked w/o it.. patience is also not one of my virtues.

SE is right, man. My hair was really frizzy yesterday and this whole week for that matter. I've had my dreads for only 6 days, and today they were just so wonderful. I couldn't believe it. Also, one of mine in the back had about an inch and a half of roots. Now it's just a loop, but it still has those roots. It's crazy how time just flies when you're not worrying about them. Also, spraying them lightly in the mornings helps a little with all those crazy fly away hairs AND it tightened mine a little. I love my babies(: (even though some won't cooperate >_< )
