Is it okay to use dish soap to wash my hair?

I've got one bottle of dreadheadhq shampoo but I'm using it and I don't want to buy more because it's $10. I read that you can use dawn dish soap to get out wax and I'm wondering if that's the main one for dreads. I used palmolive the other day and it left no scent in my hair which is a good sign and they tightened up. I'm hoping that will work because I can't afford the expensive soaps.

I'm thinking dish soap would be great for dreads since it's designed to wash away and not leave residue.

hey there Luke, I am not sure if you used wax this time around so if you want a good residue free method for washing dreads try here: super clean dreads (safe for baby locks too) or if you did use wax then you may want to start here : Dread Wax Removal and if or when you choose the bodysplash method look here : DREAD WAX REMOVAL with BodySplash be well .. rawsum
