Working on my third set of dreads. I let it go neglect (from an undercut) and it did section. but I got impatient t&r some and backcombed a few, and used wool rubbing. But I kept the natural sections. Now though I feel they are too thin for my hair type. When growing congos how do you know what is too thick? I don't want twi'lek dreads lol.

Thx I thought I was separating too much, but Ill keep doing what i've been doing. I stopped wool rubbing a couple of weeks ago.
When would you recommend a first separation? I'm cca. a month into natural and I'm starting to fear a little bit (not really tho) that I could get some big stuff at the back of my head (in the front everything is just ideal for now). I do have a very unproportional cut because before just letting my hair go I used to have a pretty extreme undercut (fade) type of haircut. Then I just let all of my hair grow naturally cca a year ago. But as a result I now have a lot of shorter hair (dreads) under my longer hair (dreads). When I tie my hair with a hairband my curly locks stick in all random directions on the sides of my head.
