when i was young, early teens in the 80's, the days of punk and stupidity, i became tired of all that was around me.this was when i saw my 1st dread, and asked him the typical, "how did ya get your hair like that?"his responce was, "stop combing it will happen"so i didfew weeks later was overjoyed to find dreads all over my head..and i felt more like me then id ever feltin 87 i attended my 1st rainbow gathering wich also changed my life drasticlybut about 2 years later, my girlfreind at the time and parents had pressured me into cutting my dreads to go to school, because all i knew of dreasds was dont comb they had congoed outta control, into 2 horns and a pillow in the back..but still i cried as they were cut and for a year felt hollow..thrust back into the babylon world i wanted out of..luckily at my graduation ..i broke my back ending up in a wheelchairwithin weeks of returning from the hospitol i started flying gliders

that 12nd solo flifght got in a thermal with 4 eagles.. when a seneca friend heard this she gave me the name soaring eagle2 months later im climbing a mountain in vermont to go to the vermont national gathering, where i stuck a few beads in the back of my hairand left the rest to do its thing.

1st pic was a few years back in michigan, bottom last year (18 years old) in wyomingsince the last pic i havent seperated at all so many if not most congod like crazy in the last year, as many as 6 joined as 1new pics after i move

mine do get really heavy when wet..but another issue is, with ppl with my level injury or higher, most dont sweat..at all.. so when its hot ..espeacialy with this fur coat i gotta do 2 things to avoid overheatting to the point of passing out1 tie em all up like this

that and constantly pour water over my head to cool down my frying brain.so yea the weights definately noticable..when theyre up, down i dont really notice.. Miss Kitty said:
WOW@ everything really, but specially at the glider and the lenght of your locs!!!
Must be a long day for you when you wash them!
I see and advantage you have over me, i would never be able to let mine get that long without some wheels to help me get around!
I live in the north of England, it rains heavily 80% of the time and when I get wet I feel the weight pulling on my neck, and they're only just reaching my shoulders, no chance of coping with really long ones *sigh*
very impressed!! x
