I have the same thing. I use selsun blue. My hair type is usually very dry tho so it actually helps my hair to dread ALOT. You can try this and see how it works, might make your hair too slippery tho. Try different things.

Tea tree etc wont do shit. I've tried it at both low and high doses. I suggest you get the appropriate fungal killing shampoo and use it when really needed. Most others here will suggest against it, but it works perfectly fine for me when the itching gets unbearable. However, best thing you can do is not scratch, regardless of how itchy. It will make it worse. With my old dreads I literally scratched till I bled on a number of occasions. If you fight the urge to scratch the need will often dissipate on its own.
