Dread question

My dreads are 6mos old, will they fatten up more? They vary in size from a pencil, to a hammer. If they will fatten up more, I'll have the look I'm falling with, but if not, I will start tying more together. I tied two into one with a rubber band the other day, waiting for them to lock into each other.

Yes they will get fatter. I have fine hair that at 6 months I could still wrap a band around it 2 times. I am now just past the 1 year mark and can't hardly even grasp it all to put a band on, and it now only goes around 1 time. The more hair you lose (roughly 100 hairs a day), they will become entwined in your locks continually making them larger. They say the size of your dread part at the scalp is what size your dread will eventually become.

Awesome! I was a little worried that they would stay thin.
