Question about neglect method

So Before i started the neglect method, i usually have my hair parted down the middle. and basically thats how it was when it started neglecting it. Is that okay or should i have had my hair combed a certain direction before? or does it not matter.

Just wash your hair and let it air dry without brushing/combing it.Shake your head to get some of the excess water out if you want your hair to dry some what faster.

Don't worry about where your hair parts just keep your hair clean and let it knot. Then rip your hair in sections as it starts locking so you don't end up with a mono-dread.
