Need Help/Advice on Separation!!

Okay, so I'm almost 5 months into neglect dreads. I probably don't separate as often as I should, but when I do separate my sections are so messed up that you can't see my scalp because there are hairs going every way between dreads. Is this normal? It doesn't hurt or anything and my dreads separate fine, I just don't know if it's normal not to see your scalp between sections. Thanks!

Completely normal! Just make sure you keep separating so they don't make congos unless u want that look. It's actually healthy for them to be this way, because you scalp is protected by the hair from outside damage, sun etc.

ofcourse its normal your not going bald..its not normal to see wide gaps of scalp u see from twisting or interlocking
