Coming along! I put henna on them but had intended on red and instead got really dark brown! Probably cuz I mixed auburn with mahogany. Maybe a mistake to mix colors. It's starting to lighten up again and I can see my natural auburn underneath. The henna REALLY created a tightening effect and was super easy! Gloopy and goopy, but fun!
Sweet!!! You must be relieved to have arrived at non-attachment with it all! It's so ironic, anyway ... the harder we try to make them be a certain way, the longer it'll take! The more we let go and let them do their thing, the better it goes!! Good for you!
i just don't have the energy to put into my hair anymore. before dreading i had wash and wear hair. i never had to brush it or anything. i think i've put more effort (separating, beads, washing without touching too much, etc.) into dreading in the last 6 months than in the last 6 years. i'm over it. i've stopped worrying about separating, i wash with what i want and how i want, i took out the beads i had in because they were getting caught on stray hair. now i'm just letting it all do what it wants and not worrying about it anymore. i know now that at some point i will have dreadlocks and i have all the time in the world to wait for it to happen:)
LMAO!!! You little trendsetter, you! :D Funny ... a dreadie mullet! Sounds like you made a good choice, especially if it was driving you crazy at only a week! I totally admire your fortitude and patience with this process! Since the ones you backcombed are shrinking up so fast, do you have the urge to backcomb the rest? It's all going to come together in the end, regardless of how we get there, I suppose!!
the sectioning was horrible. it was driving me nuts and i knew that if it was bugging me at one week then it was definitely going to bug me at one year too. with my thin hair you could see the crazy sections really well too and i hated it. its okay i guess because i'm just now getting used to what my hair is doing on its own. only problem now is the side ones that i backcombed a couple of months ago have shrunk about 6 - 8 inches. i'm going to be rocking a mullet for a while while the rest catches up. lol:)
Oh! But you're able to say you did it au naturel, my friend! Why did you take your backcombed set out, though? Just curious.
your hair and progress make me wish i hadn't taken out my first backcombed set:(
Oh, my gosh, has it ever!! Not as much as Megan's, but yeah ... lost a ton of length! It seems to have stopped shrinking over the past month, though, so that'sgood!
holy cow! your hair really shrunk!!!
