varies so widely theres no way to say it also depends how u define "to lock'
some hair can form dreads in hours to days its rarebutthey form that fast
some ppl wont see any dreading at all for months even nearly a year..equaly rare
but thats just for them to startto dread naturally
it really takes dreads ayear to fully matyre sometimes longer
trying to rush it usualy just delays it
just let it happen dont worry about what its doing or how long its taking just seperate from time to time so they dont grow together and thats it

Great to know, i will deff stop retwisting my hair every night. Dont want to get bald spots. How long does it originally take for soft hair to lock?
your freinds an idiot no offence but if u did that youd be bald before it licked
u should neverr retwist!
even if u retwist only 4 times a year its still a risk retwistingdaily u will have permenenmt balding in a few months well with a lkil help from this site umight recovber most of it in a year
but retwisting has caused abn epidemic of traction alopecia and balding in the aa community
40% of all aa get traction alopecia from braids weaves cornrows and dreads thats translates to 95% who retwist dreads its horrible advice and i bet your freinds giot more scalop then hair huh
there were contests there were "hardship' cases there were all sorts of diferent ways andthe 1st several weeks people weere over enthusiastic about it haha like i had 1 whoever shared the most content on fb (without being spammy) and 1 guy just kept posting links with captions like "i wantthe free shampoo sooo bad' wich wasnt the intention of the contest some were best blog of the week most active member of the week accordingto the leaderboard and so on
but several were just 'i really cant afford it and need it ' cases
so what idrecomend is contacting her through her website and ask what you can do to get 1
chances are she'll send you 1 but 1 thing that u might want to offer is to do a review in every dread relasted fb page since her business has been down a lil lately a lil promotion by you would be a great way to thank her for the freeby
but the regular giveaways kinda tapered off since ppl seemed less interested in participating after awhile not causethey didnt love it jusrt out of laziness i guess
you should see some of the scary balding pics we see from all the pressure salons put on you to severely overtighten the roots
