Hey Paul,My name is Noah and I started to let my hair do its own thing 15 months ago. I tried using dr. Bronners for the first 7 months, with no results, then I found out that the soap is super fatted which leaves a residue. Started using baking soda and apple cider vinegar. Still no result. Soaring Eagle suggests in many different places on this site, using vikkis dread shampoo(dreadlockshampoo.com). I swear by it. Started dreading up in 3 washes. Well worth the money and time to get it in the mail. Hard water also doesn't seem to affect the rinsing either. Enjoy the journey brother.
Welcome. Be really careful with Dr. Bronners. I know it's become the go-to soap for locks, but because it's a castile soap, it will not rinse out in hard water.
