Definitely take the bands out. The cause nothing but harm. Bands are elastic. They will squeeze your locks too tightly creating weak spots. Also, they get stuck in your locks and dry rot inside causing mold/mildew to grow.
A member on this site sells a product called Nit Nanny. Go to the members tab at the top of the site and click it, then click on hair scalp health experts tab, small white tab, there will be 4 members posted, Ilene, Jacquie, Stephanie or Panterra, one of them sells that product for lice, I just don't know which one of them. I have hear that this works wonders, never tried it myself though. One of them can help you out April...peace
As a preventative measure, I have a spray bottle mixed with water and tea tree oil . Lice do not like the aroma and will stay away. My grandchildren also use this method and have never caught lice again at school....
Welcome to the community April. This is definitely the best site on the web for all your healthy dreadie information. The neglect method is an amazing journey to watch happen. It may take a year or more, but the reward of beautiful, healthy locks is worth the patience. The dreaducation section has fantastic tips to help you along the way and may answer many questions you may have. Enjoy your journey.....Peace
