Welcome. Sorry to burst your bubble, but DHHQ and KB are scame. wax completely prevents locks from maturing, and creates the perfect environment for mold and mildew. They will never mature so long as there is wax in your hair. And the wax will NEVER wash out if you just wash with soap and water. It's a hydrocarbon, which means it needs a detergent and lots of scrubbing to get it out. If you want your locks to last more than a few years, I'd highly recommend washing them out completely and starting over. Chalk it up to a learning experience and through out everything you bought from DHHQ. You won't be able to get your money back

Welcome. But with the wax in there, they won't lock up a bit. Wax completely prevents locking. As long as it's there, your hair will never progress past the first day you applied it.
And because wax is a hydrocarbon, it'll NEVER wash out in normal soap and water. You need a detergent and TONS of scrubbing to get it out. If you leave it, you are inviting mold and mildew. Water gets trapped inside your locks when you wash and can't get out. In there, it will decompose your hair. You'll end up walking around with a virtual swamp on your head. And if you're thinking about not washing, in order to avoid this, DON'T. Take it from someone with experience, not washing will cause your hair to suffocate. My first set was started with wax, and I was told not wash for 2 months. When I finally did, my hair literally melted off of my scalp. It rotted so much, that it peeled away just under the pressure of the water. I didn't even have to touch my head.
Long story short, if you want locks to mature, you need to get the wax out. It can be a pain, and at your point, I'd recommend washing everything out and starting over. You can still use a starter method, but NEVER use a water-proofing, material in your hair
