my one ball of dread has turned into a normal dread now haha yaaay :P i did my whole head about a week after starting my first 3 dreads. my whole head is 9 days old now since i completely finished them. my friend sectioned my whole head and i backcombed and crocheted EVERY SINGLE ONE MYSELF, it took me four days... FOUR! hahahaha do you believe that shiz??? omg it was boring and hard haha but so worth it! i've washed my hair 2 times so far, its already changed so much, it went from being soft and frizzy to being thicker and somewhat hard (lmao..) and still horribly frizzy lol. i have majorrr congos in the back of my head. i separate every day but omg its hard to separate the hairs when they're stuck inside the other dreads already. ughhhh.. but im super happy with my dreadies, they look good on me :) big rant but there you go, i gave you my update haha

haha yeah i dont have em for religious reasons but part of it has to do with spirituality for me. now that i have dreads, i see things differently, already. its awesome. i dont see how anyone could discriminate cuz of dreads now that i have em. i dont see it as a big deal, they dont look horrible.

i ordered some of that dread locking gel and some liquid shampoos :) im getting it tomorrow so ill see how that goes! sooo excited! everything about having dreads makes me happy lol ive been looking for cool tams online too. i have tons of scarves so its fun putting my hair up with them lol

oh snap! haha. its mostly the ends of my baby dreads that wont knot up. i only have the back 3 so far. i backcombed really tight but they have come loose a bit, especially the one in the middle.. the two on the right and left are pretty good lookin, they're thin and straight and tight. the one in the middle is freak! its like turning into a ball lol and the only knotted parts is like from the root to the middle, the rest is straight hair. it's thicker than the other two.. but yeah i feel better after hearing it'll dread even tho its coming undone a bit :)

i washed my dreads for the first time today (the third day of having em) and i noticed a very slight difference. they seem tighter now, but only a tad. which i thought was strange because i keep hearing people get loose hairs when they wash.

oh okay that's good lol about the hard in the core thing. i was worried i did it wrong lol. i'm obviously no pro but i trusted myself to do a good job after reading and watching so many vids about it. plus going to a professional is way too expensive lol.

no i didn't use any rubberbands, i read that it prevents your hair from locking. hmm ill have to try some beads haha thats good news cuz i love the idea of putting beads in, they look badass haha. i thought id have to wait longer.

yeah i'm ok with letting it do its thing, i just dont want them to look like shit lol. i was kinda worried about getting a job. i hope having dreads wont effect my chances.. cuz i plan on doing dreads all over sometime soon.

thank you very much for taking the time to type advice out to me :) it really helped!

Welcome. But crocheting completely destroys locks. All it does is rips and breaks hairs into smaller and smaller pieces. This weakens your locks and can actually cause them to break off in places.

I can see that you have blunted tips. While many people like the look of blunted tips (which isn't bad), blunted tips make your locks dry 2 or more times slower. They hold water in your locks and can actually cause them to grow mold
