My dreads in this picture are 32 days old. I don't do anything to them but separate. Well that's a lie now cause I have tried crocheting once a couple days ago. I haven't found a root maintenance routine because try are only 40 days old now and I really don't want to do anything. I lean more towards letting them just do what they want. I'm lazy and so far am loving the look!
And thanks! I'm glad u love them
Ya my hairs really soft and pretty straight. Was actually pretty thick tho. I don't have thin hair. But it's straight and mega soft
For sure. Let me know how everything pans out
Ya definitely. Tip#1: don't get lazy and try to go to fast u will get a twisted braid look. Take ur time to really knot the hair. The extra time will be worth it in looks and lock-up time. Tip#2: make sure that at the roots u make sure each dread is knotted directly away from the scalp. Straight out if u know what I mean. If u take hair from the back of ur head make sure it is knotted straight out. If u pull the hair to the front of ur head the roots will stay in that direction. Get help if u need it. Tip #3: palm roll when u have the chance. Or at least every time u get out the shower helps a lot in keeping ur dreads from kinking and bending weirdly and gives a nice round shape instead of flattened dreads. Tip #4: a salt water rinse befor u start dreading helps alot if ur hair is like mine. Straight soft and silky. Tip#4: separating ur dreads at the roots after they r dreads daily or every second day helps prevent joining dreads. Those guys will stick together faster than u think. I don't do my whole head everyday, just whenever it comes to my mind ill pull them apart
Thanks!
I used the twist and rip method. All the frizzy loose hair u see just happened that night. I was at a thanksgiving dinner with my family and they all started throwing Velcro tipped darts at my head because they would stick to my head. But pulling the darts off my hair pulled a lot of loose hairs out
If you don't mind me asking, what method did you use?
