Welcome. Unfortunately, the crochet hook is the second most damaging thing that can be done to locks, after felting needles. It's become more and more popular, though. The problem with it is that there is absolutely no "safe" way to do it. With every pass of the hook, you rip hairs into smaller and smaller pieces. This weakens your locks considerably, and will eventually cause them to become so weak, that they can't even support their own weight. In time, they will start to snap off in places. Not to mention that 1 session with a crochet needle delays progress by about 6 months
welcome but the crochet hooks an extremely bad idea it does extreme damage and 1 single use sets back progress bu 6 months ..please throw the hook away and never use it again
